Job Description:
Summary The Asset Management Associate is responsible for
managing all assets and evaluating at- risk loans in the portfolio
to improve the likelihood of repayment and minimize risk of loss.
At-risk loans involve those that are delinquent, in non-monetary
default, litigation, bankruptcy and/or REO. The ideal candidate is
a highly motivated critical thinker that strives to positively
contribute to a successful team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsible for performing special asset portfolio management
related to select business purpose mortgage loans in compliance
with the Company's policies, procedures and related laws and
regulations. Essential Functions: Management and direct oversight
of all assets Oversight of weekly reports for the Executive and
Management team including delinquency tracking, foreclosure
processing and special asset reporting Develop, implement and
maintain SOP’s to ensure SOC-1 compliance and reporting Monitor and
review loans in default for pursuit of remedies; Request, obtain
and analyze documentation to ascertain current condition of
collateral, borrowers and guarantors; Coordinate specific work
tasks with co-workers to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of
information; Participate in client, servicing and credit related
calls and communications; Develop recommendations responsive to
requests for forbearance and modifications; Structure
recommendations for loss mitigation, short sales and
judicial/non-judicial foreclosure; Process and monitor title claims
and work with counsel to resolve; Work with outside consultants,
specialists, court appointed receivers, attorneys and co-workers as
needed for resolution of assets; Analyze and determine the impact
of bankruptcy filings and ensure protection of our position as a
creditor; Possess strong background in creditor rights, litigation
and bankruptcy; Conduct REO acquisition, management, marketing and
disposition tasks Complete other duties as assigned. Competencies:
Must have a good understanding of appraisal concepts, loan
documentation and legal concepts pertaining to special assets
Knowledgeable of Nationwide REO and Foreclosure processes Skill to
operate a computer using Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on
Excel) and a proprietary loan system Ability to interact with
customers, counter parties, investors, servicers, title officers,
escrow officers, vendors, co-workers and senior management;
Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions,
interpret documents, understand procedures, compile reports and
correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
Demonstrate knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and
responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations
and laws as they pertain to this position. 5 - 7 years of
experience in loan administration, loan asset management, loan
modification and workouts, or mortgage servicing. Effective
