Job Description:

Metric Search is working with a cutting-edge Medical Device designer and manufacturer who is looking to find a Senior Mechanical Research and Development Engineer. Our client works with spinal surgeons to design and manufacture spinal implants and instrumentation for commercialization and production.
The role will be located on-site at their new, state-of-the-art facility located in Mission Viejo, CA. They have a dedicated team of accomplished engineers working in collaboration with surgeons and physicians to create new, innovative products for mass production at their overseas manufacturing facility.
We are looking for Mechanical Engineers who are experienced in design and rapid prototyping. Experience working in regulated industry or medical devices is preferred, but not required. Applicants should also have experience in a customer facing role and be comfortable interfacing with spinal surgeons to gain insight and collect feedback and recommendations.
Some of the requirements of the role are:

• Interface with primary stakeholders including physicians and surgeons to gather insight and feedback for designing and revising implants and instruments
• Project management skills are preferred
• Work with a team of engineers in a high paced, collaborative environment to rapidly develop prototypes
• Experience working with CAD software required
• 4-5 years of experience preferred
