Software Development Engineer (Device Management)San Diego, California, United States Software and ServicesDescriptionApple is looking for a Software Development Engineer to design and implement innovative solutions to the problems organizations face while incorporating technology without compromising the Apple user experience for the end user of each device. Device Management is the layer within iOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS, and watchOS which is relied upon by many system components for managing settings locally as well as handling communication with device management tools like Apple Configurator and MDM servers. Because most system components need to be managed in some way, the Device Management team interacts with many different engineering teams across the company, from system and Apple's App Store apps to low-level OS infrastructure.   • Experience implementing applications or frameworks for an Apple platform using Swift or Objective-C
  • Experience with framework and/or daemon development
  • Experience with key Apple technologies like CoreData, libdispatch, XPC
  • Experience with concurrent programming concepts and design patterns, such as multi-threading, serialization, and lockingPreferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, an engineering-related field, or equivalent related experience.
    • Experience developing and shipping consumer-focused applications
    • Experience implementing client to server network communications
    • Familiarity with Apple application UI guidelines
    • Familiarity with device management technologies such as MDM and Declarative Device ManagementAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,700 and $204,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
