position is a short-term, temporary, Non-Bargaining Unit
assignment, not to exceed 160 days. The assignment is on an as
needed basis, and may be shortened or extended.This recruitment
will remain open until filled or withdrawn. Once you have submitted

application.Under the direction of the appropriate level manager or
administrator, perform a full range of complex administrative,
technical, and programmatic duties related to the area of
assignment. The incumbent is responsible for facilitating community
placements and clinical placements for students in Health Sciences,
Human services and Allied Health programs. The incumbent will
identify the need for new clinical contracts (affiliation
agreements), assure contract alignment with program objectives and
compliance with background checks, required health / immunization
requirements and drug screens as appropriate. The Clinical
Placement Coordinator will collaborate with the Dean, the Assistant
Dean, Department Chairs as well as program coordinators and staff
each semester in coordinating clinical placements and tracking
placements of Health Science, Human Services and Allied Health
students.This class is distinguished from similar classifications
in that positions assigned to this class are categorically funded,
not financed by District funds. The term of this position is
limited in by the availability of categorical funds.Representative
Duties and Responsibilities: --- Initiate and coordinate the
process for obtaining community placements and clinical placements
in hospitals, community based and outpatient settings.---
Collaborate with the Dean, Assistant Dean, and Department chairs as
well as coordinators and managers of community agencies, hospitals,
community based and outpatient settings to initiate, develop,
secure and track clinical placements.--- Communicate via a variety
of methods with educators or placement coordinators to initiate,
develop, secure and evaluate outcomes of placements.--- Attend
clinical affiliation meetings, professional meetings in the
community, job fairs and recruitments as well as placement
coordination meetings.--- Identify facility requirements for
student onboarding at each location including agency specific
learning modules, orientation to the Electronic Health Record
(EHR), immunization requirements, background checks, and drug
testing. --- Maintain a record of these requirements and update
clinical affiliation agreements to meet agencies requirements.---
Ensure that contracts with Facilities (clinical affiliation
agreements) are current, and initiate renewal process or new
contract process as needed.--- Identify potential student learning
experiences in clinical practicum sites.--- Conduct site visits to
agencies as needed to maintain strong working relationship and to
secure additional clinical placements as needed.--- Maintain
records related to active and inactive clinical placements as well
as updated contacts at each clinical facility and the number of
students accepted per program type.--- Make presentations to
students, professional colleagues at the college and in community
and clinical settings regarding community and clinical
placements.--- Perform related duties as required.Knowledge of: ---
Regional sector healthcare entities in the healthcare and human
services sector.--- Knowledge of medical terminology--- Knowledge
of healthcare and human services legislation and accreditation
affecting students and academic programs.--- Experience working
with contracts and agreements.--- Principles, practices, and
procedures of business letter writing and report preparation.---
Principles and practices used to establish and maintain files,
records, and information retrieval systems in electronic systems
and databases.--- Principles of developing and maintaining customer
relations.--- Diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural,
disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college
students.--- Principles, practices and procedures of complex
fiscal, statistical, and administrativerecordkeeping, research, and
report preparation.--- Office procedures, methods, and equipment
including computers and applicable softwareapplications such as
word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.--- Interpersonal
skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.--- Principles and
practices of providing training, work direction, and guidance to
lower-level faculty, office staff, and student workers.--- English
usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.--- Effective
oral presentation skills.--- Operational characteristics, services,
and activities of the functions, programs, andoperations of the
assigned division or department.--- Pertinent federal, state, and
local laws, codes, and regulations including applicablesections of
the State Education Code and other legal requirements related to
area ofassignment.--- Work organization and office management
principles and practices.Ability to:--- Perform a range of
administrative and clerical duties that involve independent
judgment and personal initiative.--- Work collaboratively with
external organizations, administrators, faculty, students and staff
to coordinate student placement and clinical affiliation
agreements.--- Manage information systems with sensitive and
protected information.--- Establish and maintain cooperative and
effective working relationships with those contacted in the course
of work.--- Report to work on a regular and consistent basis, as
scheduled, to assigned job.--- Work with and exhibit sensitivity to
and understanding of the varied racial, ethnic, cultural, sexual
orientation, academic, socio-economic, and disabled populations of
community college students.--- Work under steady pressure with
frequent interruptions and a high degree of publicby phone or in
person.--- Adapt to changing technologies and learn functionality
of new equipment and systems.--- Analyze problems, identify
alternative solutions, project consequences of proposedactions, and
implement recommendations in support of goals.--- Exercise good
judgment and discretion in analyzing and resolving confidential,
difficult,and sensitive situations.--- Respond to requests and
inquiries from students, staff, or the public; effectively present
information in person or on the telephone to students, staff, or
the public.--- Independently compose and prepare correspondence and
memoranda.--- Plan and organize work to meet schedules and changing
deadlines.--- Work within the policies, functions, and requirements
of area of assignment.--- Operate office equipment including
computers and supporting word processing,spreadsheet, and database
applications.--- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and
in writing.--- Present specialized information and provide
assistance to students, staff, and others.Job
Requirements:Education and Experience Guidelines:Any combination of
education and experience that would likely provide the required
knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the
knowledge and abilities would be:Education/Training: Equivalent of
two years of college level coursework or specialized training
inNursing, Health Care, Health Sciences, Human Services, Allied
Health or a relatedfield.Experience:Two years of increasingly
responsible experience in Health Sciences, Human Services or Allied
Health or an educational environment that demonstrates the
interpersonal skills toestablish and maintain working relationships
with internal and external stakeholders.License or Certificate:A
valid California Driver's License. Proof of insurance may be
required for offsite assignments in order to drive a District or
