American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Mission Viejo, California. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/09/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a current CA license and ACLS, BLS, and NIH certification for a night shift assignment in an acute care setting with frequent floating requirements. Responsibilities - Work in an acute care hospital ICU as part of a float pool - Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30) - Patient ratio is 1:2 - Required to float between ICU and similar units, including affiliate hospitals within the state - May be required to float to nearby facilities - Epic is used for charting - Weekend shifts are at least every other weekend and may exceed this to meet unit needs - Royal blue scrubs required for RNs - Free parking available - All travelers are expected to float between all in-state facilities during the assignment - Must work a minimum of three out of five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) - Return to work policy allows former perm staff to return after a 3 month break - All mandatory modules must be completed pre-start and annually, with approximately 16 hours required - Requested time off (RTO) must be specified at application; excessive RTO may delay or impact consideration - Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment - Block scheduling may be accommodated at the discretion of management Requirements - Active CA RN license in hand; no temporary licenses accepted - Minimum 1 year of recent ICU RN experience required - Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS - Experience with Epic EMR required - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Must provide two supervisory references covering one year of recent ICU employment - Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility for eligibility as a traveler - Former perm staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-629573.
