We are looking for a Lead Vascular Technologist with $1,000 Sign-On Bonus for the Vascular Diagnostic Department at Heritage Healthcare.$1,000 Sign-on Bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.Location: Mission Viejo, CAWork Schedule: Full time - 80 Biweekly HoursShift: 8-hour, DaysJob Summary:The Lead Vascular Technologist supports the department with the first line direction of the staff and workflow for the department on a day to day basis by ensuring appropriate, consistent protocols per accreditation are followed by all technologists. This position assumes responsibility for staff scheduling to ensure coverage of full and on-call technologists to ensure adequate and appropriate coverage overall. This position supplies documentation needed for licensing and accreditation. In addition this position performs a variety of basic and complex ultrasound procedures for diagnostic procedures on patients of all ages and assumes responsibility for accuracy under the supervision and guidance of the Medical Director and as defined in policies and procedures. The Lead Vascular Technologist shall work effectively with patients, clinic personnel, the manager, physicians, and Medical Director, as well as assisting all other areas of the Radiology Department as needed. In addition, this position will assist in orientation/training of new employees as well as participate in the hiring/evaluation process.Essential Functions: Performs non-invasive vascular ultrasounds including carotid, arterial, venous evaluations and graft scanning. Provides accurate history, preliminary report of exam results for interpreting physicians. Operates ultrasound and associated equipment. Provides patient's name, FM #, FV # and data accurately for all procedures. Completes accurate data input to assure proper charges to patient. Upon completion of the test, the technologist will prepare the study for physician interpretation, and performs related clerical work as needed. Performs invasive vascular procedures by assisting the physicians in the Vein Procedure Laboratory: EVLA, RFA, I & D, Phlebotomy. Performs non-invasive vascular procedures including carotid, aorta, IMT, LEV, LEA, ABI, vein mapping/reflux studies As In collaboration with the Supervisor, Manager, and/or Director, assists in the front line direction of the clinical staff, leads team and delegates task appropriately. Orients and trains new clinical employees to team. Identifies trends/patterns that adversely impact flow and discusses with Management. Interacts effectively with management, makes recommendations for staffing needs and offers input and support to facilitate site operations. Identifies strengths and areas for improvement in work flows to management. Contributes to staff evaluations / disciplinary actions in coordination with management. Assist in the selection of qualified candidates; manage staff schedules, mentors performance. Maintains a clean, functional work environment to include housekeeping, quality control and log maintenance and accurate supply par levels. Assists in training of staff. Assists in scheduling of outpatients and inpatient procedures requiring a panel physician. Prioritizes and organizes daily workload assignment. Must be able to assess pathology requiring immediate physician notification and/or attention versus routine interpretation Recognize potential problems and recommends changes in a preventative proactive manner.Skills: Basic computer skills in a Windows operating environment including Word and an e-mail system. Ability to work with difficult patients. Must be detailed oriented. Possess analytical skills necessary to recognize abnormal vascular studies and artifact on test data and to notify appropriate personnel. Ability to perform all aspects on non-invasive vascular testing following age related competencies per department protocol. Possess excellent customer services skills with a genuine caring approach to helping people. Ability to maintain a positive attitude with changing conditions. Possess strong organizational skills. Possess strong written and verbal communications skills to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Ability to work under general supervision. Possess a professional and mature demeanor. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks, work with interruptions, and deal effectively with confidential information. Ability to lead and delegate tasks appropriately. Possess excellent telephone etiquette. Ability to work irregular hours. Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.Minimum Position Requirements:Education: Associate's Degree or High School Diploma/GED with a Certificate of completion from an accredited ultrasound program/college.Experience: 2 years experience as a Vascular Technologist in field directly related to the position. Experience with IAC accreditation submission. Experience with Allscripts & Sonosoft Reporting Systems.Licenses/Certifications: Current California ARDMS/RDCS/RVT license. Current BLS certificate.Preferred Position Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree.Experience: 6 years Acute care or ambulatory experience in a Vascular Diagnostic patient care setting. 1 year experience in a leadership role. IDX and Touchworks experience.Licenses/Certifications: Certification in Electrocardiography.
