Job Description:

The Activity Center Coordinator is a part-time position, which will be located at the GSOC Activity Center in the Brea Mall or The Shops at Mission Viejo. This position will be scheduled during regular operating hours of the mall. Holiday hours will vary. The Activity Center Coordinator will provide customer service to all center visitors, which includes support to troops and groups using the center for Girl Scout activities, responding to inquiries about Girl Scouts, assisting in program delivery, and preforming retail sales responsibilities.
Essential Responsibilities/Activities:

• Open and close the Activity Center.
  
• Provide support and customer service to volunteers and members visiting or contacting the center.
  
• Provide information about Girl Scout membership, program, and other engagement opportunities to the public visiting or contacting the center.
  
• Assist in the delivery of the Council-sponsored program occurring at the center.
  
• Ensure the center remains prepared for member use.
  
• Provide high quality customer service and information to customers and visitors regarding shop merchandise using point of sale cash register to accurately record and complete sale transactions for all items sold.
  
• Prepare cash drawer for opening shop and balance cash drawer at closing, including processing all appropriate closing documentation for Finance department and shop records.
  
• Additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
  Qualifications

  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
    
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal and customer service skills.
    
  • Team player with ability to work semi-independently and demonstrate initiative in all areas of performance.
    
  • Ability to handle money quickly and accurately using an automated cash register.
    
  • Ability to remain calm and work efficiently at peak times when many customers need help.
    
  • Must be comfortable working around and with children.
    
  • Experience with or interest in Girl Scout program and youth activities desired.
    
  • Able to lift, push, pull up to 30 lbs.
    
  • Must pass a background screening.
    
  • Willingness to accept the beliefs and principles of the Girl Scout Movement and acceptance of the relevant and compelling benefits of Girl Scouting.
    
  • Bi-lingual ability, English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese desired.
