Description Lead Sterile Processing Technician - Sterilization Location: Mission Viejo, CA Work Schedule: Full time - 80 Biweekly Hours Shift: 8-hour, Nights Under general supervision, oversees the processing of surgical instrumentation and supplies from decontamination to sterilization and distribution for all departments in the hospital. Assigns duties and tasks to Sterile Processing/HLD Processing personnel to assure all surgical trays are clean, complete, accurate, and stored in designated areas. Refers performance issues to the SPD Manager. Maintains par level of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. Works in collaboration with the Clinical Manager to assure that instrumentation for all procedures are available. Oversees and maintains established quality assurance program standards of load sterilization/HLD tests, interpreting data, recording and verifying correct operation of sterilizers/HLD equipment. Assures that the biological testing of all hospital sterilizers meets the correct standards and that the documentation is complete and appropriately maintained. Is proficient in required competencies and is able to perform competency evaluations of the staff. Required qualifications:

• 2 years Experience as a Certified Sterile Processing Technician CRCST or CSPDT.
• 2 years High-Level Disinfection: Experience in High Level Disinfection or Endoscopy.
• CRCST Certification (Certified Registered Central Service Technician), Or
• CSPDT Certification (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician), Or
• CFER Certification (Certified in Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor), Or
• CER Certification (Certified Endoscope Reprocessing). Preferred qualifications:
  • CHL Certification (Certification in Healthcare Leadership) through IAHCSMM or CBSD.
