DESCRIPTION
Are you driven to protect your community and eager to launch a
meaningful career in Fire Suppression? The City of Corona's Fire
Department is seeking dedicated individuals to join this part-time
entry-level work-training cadet program. This position offers
hand-on experience in fire training, fire suppression, and
emergency management. As a Fire Cadet, you'll work alongside
seasoned professionals gaining invaluable skills and introduced to
a wide variety of fire service experiences. This position will be
eligible for future internal hiring processes.Must work a minimum
of 18 hours a week Monday - Friday. The department will accept up
to the first 75 qualified applications.CURRENT VACANCIES ARE ONLY
FOR FIRE SUPPRESSION.

equivalentExperienceMust be at least 18 years of age.Candidates
must possess a valid Class C California driver's license and the
ability to maintain insurability.Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen
or permanent Resident Alien meeting the
requirements of Government Code Section 1031 (A) and 1031.5.In
order to qualify for this position candidates must possess aCurrent
CPR certification at the "professional rescuer" or "healthcare
provider" level.And one of the following categories:

This position is FLSA Non-Exempt, eligible for overtime
compensation.

THE ORGANIZATION
The City of Corona is a General Law city operating under a
Council-Manager form of government. Policy making and legislative
authority is vested in the City Council, consisting of a Mayor and
four Council Members. Members of the City Council are elected by
District to a four-year term. The Mayor is selected by the Council
and serves as the presiding officer for one year.The City is
organized into the following departments/organizational units:
Community Services, City Manager's Office, Economic Development,
Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal and
Risk Management, Police, Planning & Development, Public Works, and
Utilities. Oversight of these departments is divided between the
City Manager and an Assistant City Manager.The City's total
operating budget for Fiscal Year 2025 is $ 399.1 million with a
General Fund operating budget of $ 209.6 million. Corona enjoys a
